Focus pull
A focus pull changes which part of the frame is sharp, using blur to move attention without moving the camera much. It borrows language from lenses but works in motion graphics as a controlled foreground-background handoff.
When to use it
Use it when two elements share one shot: prompt to output, input to result, old state to new state.
Common mistakes
Blurring readable UI for too long; using focus pull where scale or position would be clearer; stacking blur with fast camera motion.
How Impractical uses it
Impractical's stage can animate filter blur deterministically, so directors can use focus as a cue while still exporting frame-perfect video.
