Flip text
Flip text reveals characters with a 3D rotation, usually from an edge-on state into the final baseline. It feels mechanical and precise, like panels on a split-flap board, but it has to finish quickly for legibility.
When to use it
Use it for short technical labels, feature names, and product surfaces where the mechanical feel fits the story.
Common mistakes
Flipping long copy; over-rotating until letters become visually noisy; mixing flip with too many other 3D effects.
How Impractical uses it
Flip is a named text entrance in the Impractical stage engine. It gives directors a technical reveal option without relying on generic sci-fi decoration.
