Settle
A settle is the final soft deceleration after an object lands. It can be a small scale correction, a short opacity finish, or a barely visible positional ease. Without a settle, motion stops dead; with too much settle, motion feels mushy.
When to use it
Use it after a fast entrance, especially for badges, logos, and headline words. The settle should be felt more than seen.
Common mistakes
Adding visible wobble to large UI surfaces; letting the settle take longer than the actual move; stacking settle effects on every element.
How Impractical uses it
Impractical's house curves build the settle into the motion language. Directors can move quickly without producing harsh, stop-frame landings.
